In 2019, young restaurateurs Victor Dubillot and Charles Perez decided the Paris brasserie scene needed an update for the Instagram era. So they opened this good-value, no-reservations restaurant near the Gare du Nord. It has a campy pop decor that mixes traditional brasserie elements – including black-and-white honeycomb-tile floors and red-velvet upholstered Bentwood chairs – with a bolder colour scheme and flourishes, such as hanging copper pans. Classic dishes prevail, like onion soup, marinated leeks, steak frites (€15), sausage and mash (€13), and Paris-Brest (choux pastry filled with hazelnut cream), but there’s also a “Veggie du Moment” main for vegetarians and a fish of the day (€16).
